99 days to go!

Only 99 days until the next federal election on October 19, 2015!

Recent polls seem to indicate a steady Conservative slide.  How far can they go?  As far as I'm concerned, there's lots of room at the bottom.  I'm sure Gilles Duceppe won't mind moving over to let Harper occupy the bottom of the barrel.  And poor Elizabeth May.  Her party is losing support to the NDP.  Harper and co. polling lower than her would be a welcome sight.

Of course, this would be in a perfect world.  For all their misdeeds, the Harper "Conservatives" deserve nothing less than the Kim Campbell treatment of 1993.  Unfortunately, some "Canadians" are such staunch supporters, that there is very little to cause them to switch their vote.  The threat of that dastardly villain Trudeau or the horror of "socialism" (gasp!) under Mulcair is too much of a threat to our fragile democracy.  I mean, we're safer with Harper, right?  That has to be the weakest argument I have ever heard.  To say that it's better to stick with the most arrogant and scandal-plagued government in our nation's history, doesn't say much for our nation.  Better to give someone else a chance to fix this mess.  While I personally prefer the platform and approach of the Liberals, I would still accept an NDP government.  Harper was given his ultimate prize in May 2011.  Not that he deserved it, but he blew it big time.  If he was a person of substance, he would have hit the road a long time ago.  For the good of his party.  And for the good of Canada.  I shudder to think how much more damage he could do if somehow he manages to cling to power.
